VMTA THEORY TEST

The Virginia Music Teachers Association Theory Tests are based on 12 musical levels of study. Teachers may enter their students at any level. A student may skip levels at the teacher's discretion. The knowledge required for tests is cumulative, and tests may include questions based on materials required for previous levels. An oral test may be given to first grade students; all other grades will take a written test.  Certificates of participation are awarded for all students passing the test. Additional seals and/or ribbons are given for high rankings.
